It's very important to take care of the water in your pool, both for your health and for the durability of the cover. You must avoid chlorine levels higher than 1.5 ppm, and have a PH between 7.2 and 7.6.
Do not use a high concentration of chlorine or other chemicals especially for polycarbonate slats (solar or transparent). High concentrations of chlorine can shorten the life of your slats.
The stainless steel used in your pool cover is of the highest quality possible. However, high concentrations of chlorine or salt and a low PH can cause oxidation.
Avoid lime. Lime can be reduced by putting a piece of aluminum in your pool or in the skimmer. If there is a lot of lime, clean the cover every three months or install an anti-lime system.
Don't empty the pool without removing the slats first from the installation. Emptying the pool without removing first the slats causes irreparable damage to the slats.
On exterior-mounted covers: solar and transparent slats cannot be left rolled up without protection from the sun and inclement weather (fiber box, wood, benches...). In any case, the solar or transparent slats should never be exposed directly to the sun, except if they are placed on the water.
With solar slats, you must turn on the pump every day to circulate the water, thus achieving proper distribution of heat in your pool.
It is recommended to secure your slats against hail.
The hardest thing to do is to get rid of the limescale between the PVC slats of your cover, which prevents cover from working properly over the long term.
You should clean your pool cover at least twice a year with a high-pressure cleaner at 80 bar maximum, to make sure you remove all the dirt and debris.
If there is a lot of dirt between the slats, the cover can increase its size by 20-50 cm and this can influence its operation. It is recommended to clean the cover immediately.
If there are stains on your slats, you can scrub them well with a non- abrasive sponge. If they're really ingrained you can use household vinegar to facilitate the cleaning process.
As a general rule, it is recommended at least once a year to clean the DISEGNA® wood thoroughly with disinfectant soap and a bristle brush (never wire brush) and rinse the surface with plenty of water to prevent the formation of bristles.
Depending on the conditions and location of the installation (areas with vegetation, shady areas with high humidity, etc.) these may favour the growth of fungi and moulds on the surface, so it is recommended to remove them by using Salfumán (10-15% concentration in HCl) and with the help of a bristle brush rubbing over the surface and rinsing with plenty of water to avoid the formation of fences.
Just like any other material: clothes, upholstery, etc., when a cleaning product is applied to a specific area, this cleaning will not only remove the stain, but also all the dirt and dust deposited on that area. Therefore, the area that has been cleaned will be left with a lighter tone than the rest.
The light shade of the cleaned area will re-homogenise with the rest of the shade within a short period of time. In all cases, after using cleaning products, be sure to rinse with plenty of water and wash the dirty water away to avoid the formation of rims around the treated surface.

It's very important to take care of the water in your pool, both for your health and for the durability of the cover. Any damage caused by failing to comply with these guidelines, such as chlorine vapors, deterioration of the slats, oxidation of the stainless steel, or any other damage that is assessed to have been caused by these reasons, will entail an immediate cancellation of the warranty.
